NH38 / NH70 Series – Setup & Care Guide

Hand-assembled in Los Angeles. This guide covers the NH38, NH70, NH71, and NH72 automatic movements. Setup and care instructions are the same across all four.

Getting Started

How to wind & start your watch

First-time setup

Your røwn watch arrives without a charge. Follow these steps to start it for the first time:

1
Unscrew the crown

Turn it counter-clockwise until it pops out to the winding position.

2
Wind 20–30 turns clockwise

This gives the movement enough energy to start running. Wind gently — stop when you feel light resistance.

3
Give it a gentle shake

This activates the rotor. The watch will continue to charge automatically as you wear it throughout the day.

Restarting after sitting unworn

If your watch stops after not being worn, simply repeat the winding steps above. These movements have a 41-hour power reserve — there's no need to overwind.

Setup

Setting the time

These movements are time-only — there is no date complication. There are two crown positions:

1
Crown pushed in — Normal operation

The watch runs normally. For screw-down crowns, always screw the crown back in after use.

2
First click — Set the time

The seconds hand stops for precision. Turn to set the time, then push the crown back in.

What's the difference?

Not sure which movement you have? Check your warranty card. The four movements are mechanically identical — they differ only in how they look.

NH38

Standard automatic movement. Solid rotor — the movement internals are not visible through the caseback.

NH70

Skeleton movement with an open-worked rotor. The movement is fully visible through the caseback and sometimes through an open dial.

NH71

Skeleton movement with a minimalist half-rotor. Offers a wider view of the movement compared to the NH70.

NH72

Skeleton movement with a gold-toned open rotor. Same visibility as the NH70 with a distinct decorative finish.

Fit

Adjusting your bracelet

A precision screwdriver is included with your røwn watch to help you size the bracelet at home.

  • Locate the screw pins on the side of the bracelet links
  • Use the included screwdriver to remove the pin and pop out a link
  • Remove links evenly — one at a time on each side of the clasp — for a balanced fit
  • Reinsert the pin and tighten securely before wearing
